More specifically, the scope of work will include the following activities under Task 3 for 2009, and costs projected for 2010: Task 2 1. ALTUS will coordinate and oversee the excavation of petroleum impacted soils from the site. Additional costs included in the excavation scope of work include the removal and replacement of clean overburden soils, removal and replacement of soils along an OSHA - required sloped sidewall, transportation and disposal of contaminated soils to an appropriate facility, asphalt removal and replacement in the northern portion of the excavation, and other miscellaneous costs included in the approved Corrective Action Plan. 2. Following completion of the above - detailed excavation, ALTUS will submit a Remediation System Startup & Implementation Report to OPS. 3. The contaminated soil excavation will require the destruction of two currently existing monitoring wells on -site, which will be replaced by GDI Drilling, Inc. (GDI) under the supervision of ALTUS, following completion of the excavation. One additional monitoring well will be installed centrally within the dissolved benzene plume to aid in demonstrating the effects of the excavation in relation to groundwater cleanup goals. One dual- nested soil vapor probe will be installed adjacent to the future building to monitor vapor phase hydrocarbons in the shallow soils adjacent to, and beneath the future structure to ensure health and safety protection of Pueblo Memorial Airport maintenance personnel. 4. Continue to sample site monitoring wells quarterly through the fourth quarter of 2010, and submit quarterly Monitoring and Remediation Reports to OPS. All of the services outlined above will be performed in accordance with OPS' Reasonable Cost Guidelines (see Schedule 2: Fee Schedule).
