SW0603, MISCELLANEOUS EROSION CONTROL INTO PROJECT NO. SW2301, LAKE MINNEQUA WATER CONTROL GATES AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution transfers money from Project No. SW0603, Miscellaneous Erosion Control into Project No. SW2301, Lake Minnequa Water Control Gates. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The Stormwater Utility Enterprise has planned an upgrade project on the northeastern end of Lake Minnequa to address the challenge of controlling water discharge from the lake. Currently, the outflow is controlled manually by the stormwater crew, making it difficult to control the water entering the pipe network that connects to the Arkansas River outfall. To address this issue, two new manholes will be constructed that will house valves operable by the stormwater crew, allowing for the regulation of flow and the ability to stop it when necessary. This enhancement will ensure safe access to downstream pipes for maintenance and repair. This funding will be dedicated to ensuring the successful implementation of these upgrades at Lake Minnequa. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding for this project will come from the Stormwater Utility Enterprise budget. Funding was available and has been budgeted, appropriated, and allocated to Project No. SW2301. Additional funding is needed to complete the full scope of work. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Council could elect not to allow the transfer of funds and the project would not have adequate funding to complete the scope of work required. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: None
