AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 2 AND 4 OF TITLE XVII OF THE PUEBLO
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO STUDENT HOUSING
ISSUE
Should the City Council amend Chapters 2 and 4 of title XVII of the Pueblo Municipal
Code relating to student housing?
The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their March 25, 2009 Work Session, voted 5 -1
to recommend approval.
BACKGROUND
Presently, the Pueblo Municipal Code (PMC) only permits housing based on a
maximum of three (3) unrelated individuals residing in any dwelling unit, whether single -
family or multi - family. A developer of a student housing project requested that the
Planning Department preliminarily review plans for a student housing complex where
they would be designed for four (4) unrelated students in each dwelling unit. Under
the current regulations, this development would not be permitted.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None.
