RECOMMENDATION Approval of Ordinance. BACKGROUND Pueblo Transit will be transitioning into the new electronic farebox system. In an effort to increase options for transit dependent riders, the staff is recommending a new bus pass fare structure that includes a 22 -ride bus pass with a 25% discount for passengers, and an increase of $5.00 per "unlimited monthly pass" for all riders. There has not been a fare increase for public transportation services since January 2005. Several proposals were shared with the public at public meetings and this was the most favorable one. FINANCIAL IMPACT If the new fee structure is approved, it is anticipated that the fare box revenue will increase $45,000 for the ten months of 2009 starting March 1, 2009. Provided the current expenditure budget is maintained, this change would reduce the needed General Fund Subsidy by half of this amount, or $22,500 in 2009.
