HomeMy WebLinkAbout07960ORDINANCE NO. 7960 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE VI CHAPTER 5, OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TEMPORARY AND INTERMITTENT WORKERS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (Brackets indicate material being deleted; underscoring indicates new material being added. Section1. Section 6 -5 -18 of Title VI, Chapter 5, of the Pueblo Municipal Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows: 6 -5 -18: TEMPORARY AND INTERMITTENT WORKERS The following shall constitute the rate of pay for all temporary and intermittent workers. (Effective January 1, [2002] 20091 (Stagehands) During Showtime" HOURLY RATE Carpenter Electrician, Propertyman, Sound Operator, Spot Operator Wardrobe Pieceworker and Riggers Carloaders [$50.00] $60.00 [$50.00] $60.00 [$50.00] $60.00 [$12.00] $16.00 [$12.00] $16.00 [$12.00] $16.00 [$12.00] $16.00 [$12.00] $16.00 " Shows are three hours in duration. Shows in excess of three hours will be prorated on the basis of the showtime rate. Rehearsals are the same as shows. Minimum call shows in: Four hours Minimum call shows out: Two hours Overtime: One and one -half the hourly rate for more than eight hours in one day, except that showtime shall not be considered overtime or be computed as any part of the regular eight -hour working day. SECTION 2 This Ordinance shall become effective upon final passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Ordinance BACKGROUND Hourly wage scales have not been adjusted in this area since 2002. The stagehand managing the auditorium has indicated that the proposed increase in wages is necessary to attract stagehands for some of the larger productions. All expenses associated with stagehand wages are paid by the organization renting the auditorium. FINANCIAL IMPACT Wages for the intermittent workers are included in and reimbursed through auditorium rental contracts.
