AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO
DEPARTMENTAL AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009
WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the following staffing plan for the City
Departments best meets the needs of the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Financial Plan (Budget) provides for the funding for the positions as
included in the staffing plan,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:

TITLE
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL
AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009
ISSUE
This Ordinance provides for the allocation of positions by department for the Budget
Year of 2009.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager and the Human Resources Director recommend that this Ordinance
be approved.
BACKGROUND
Authorized departmental staffing for 2009 includes an increase by two positions in the
Parks & Recreation Department (an increase of 2 Park Caretakers & a Volunteer
Coordinator (Parks & Recreation) with a reduction of a Parks Superintendent. In
addition, there was a removal of the Assistant City Manager /Urban Renewal during
2008. These staffing modifications result in an overall increase of 1 positions above the
staffing levels approved in the 2008 budget not counting the 12 additional Police Patrol
Officers already approved during 2008.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The positions authorized in this ordinance have been funded in the 2009 budget.
