HomeMy WebLinkAbout07891ORDINANCE NO. 7891 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND TRANSFERRING $52,040 FROM THE GENERAL FUND RESERVES TO PUEBLO TRANSIT FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO GFI /GENFARE IN THE AMOUNT OF $276,175 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 Funds in the amount of $52,040 are hereby appropriated and transferred to Pueblo Transit from the general fund reserves for the purchase of equipment. SFCTION 2 The City of Pueblo is authorized to accept the option to purchase sixteen (16) electronic fareboxes from the Merced County Transit Authority in Merced, CA with GFI /Genfare. The City's Purchasing Agent is authorized to issue a purchase order to GFI /Genfare in the amount of $276,175 for such equipment. SECTION 3 This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION Approval of Ordinance. BACKGROUND The City has been allocated a Federal Operating Grant # CO -90- X162 -00 in the amount of $179,308.00. These funds are carryover funds from FY 2005 FTA Operating Grant and are intended to subsidize Pueblo Transit's purchase of sixteen (16) electronic fareboxes, software and hardware equipment to support the fareboxes, and the equipment for the vault room. The City has an approved match in the amount of $44,827 however, an additional $52,040 is needed to complete the project. Pueblo Transit will be piggybacking out of an option from the Merced County Transit Authority in Merced, CA with GFI /Genfare. FINANCIAL IMPACT The Federal share for this project is $179,308 and an additional $52,040 is needed as a City match in order to complete this project.
