HomeMy WebLinkAbout07883ORDINANCE NO. 7883 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16 OF CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE VI AND THE FISCAL YEAR 2008 STAFFING ORDINANCE AND RELATING TO THE REORGANIZATION OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, in the interest of promoting greater efficiency in the Human Resources Department, the following position modifications need to be made. Now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter deleted, underscoring indicates matter added) SECTION 1. The following section captioned "Human Resources " of Ordinance No. 7697, being the 2008 Staffing Ordinance, is amended as follows: Director of Human Resources 1 Benefits Coordinator 1 [Employment & Benefits Specialist 2] [HR Analyst /Recruitment 1] Clerk Typist III /HR Records Tech 1 HR Analyst 2 Employee Benefits & Loss Control Manager 1 Total 6 .q Fr.TInN 9 Section 16 of Chapter 5 of Title VI is amended by the addition of the following salary schedule and merit pay range as follows: Employee Benefits & Loss Control Manager 5455.08 5641.70 5859.01 6060.39 6260.52 6466.77 6680.39 HR Analyst 3469.42 3584.97 3700.74 3816.37 3943.44 4070.80 4198.01 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION The City Manager and the Human Resources Director recommend that this ordinance be passed and approved. BACKGROUND In the interest of promoting greater insurance cost containment/wellness & employee loss control focus within the City of Pueblo, the Human Resources Department recommends making these staffing adjustments in order to provide enhanced support to the City departments and their employees. FINANCIAL IMPACT Deleting an Employment & Benefits Specialist and backfilling with a HR Analyst will allow savings so that these other 2 adjustments will still result in an estimated salary and pension savings of $1,529.90 for the balance of this year.
