SECTION 1. The Future Land Use Map of the Pueblo Regional Development Plan, revised September 8, 2008, in the form and content attached hereto is hereby approved and adopted. SECTION 2. PACHECO, DIRECTOR TITLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7672 ADOPTING A COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN FOR THE PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ISSUE Should City Council amend the City's Comprehensive Master Plan to revise the Future Land Use Map by expanding an Employment Center — Industry area to provide for several potential job creating economic development projects? RECOMMENDATION The Planning and Zoning Commission at their August 13, 2008 Regular Meeting voted 6 -0 to recommend approval of the amendment. BACKGROUND The nature of the proposed map amendment to the Comprehensive Plan revises the Future Land Use Map by expanding an Employment Center — Industry area south of the City's limits, east of Interstate 25, and extending south to Lime Road in order to provide for several potential job creating economic development projects. City staff and Pueblo Economic Development Corporation representatives are working on plans to upgrade roadway, heavy rail, water, sanitary sewer and other infrastructure in this area to establish a new corridor to locate industries oriented towards national markets. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
