HomeMy WebLinkAbout07860ORDINANCE NO. 7860 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING RESTRICTIONS FROM R -5, MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL AND OFFICE DISTRICT, TO S -1, GOVERNMENT USE DISTRICT COVERING PARCELS OF LAND COMMONLY KNOWN AS 310 COLORADO AVENUE AND 107 E. ROUTT AVENUE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The zoning restrictions covering the following described property be changed from R -5 Multiple Residential and Office District, to S -1, Government Use District and upon passage of this Ordinance, zoning restrictions affecting S -1, Government Use District shall apply to said property as follows: LOTS 1 TO 8 + NELY 10.35 OF LOT 9 BLK 124 S PUEBLO TOGETHER WITH THE SOUTHEASTERLY ONE HALF RIGHT OF WAY OF COLORADO AVENUE ADJACENT TO SAID LOTS AND TOGETHER WITH THE SOUTHWESTERLY ONE HALF RIGHT OF WAY OF E ROUTT AVE ADJACENT TO SAID LOT 1 AND INCLUDING THE NORTHWESTERLY ONE HALF RIGHT OF WAY OF THE PUBLIC ALLEY (20 FEET WIDE) ADJACENT TO ALL SAID LOTS. and more commonly known as: 310 Colorado Avenue and 107 E. Routt Avenue SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. ROUTT AVENUE ISSUE Shall City Council approve a request to rezone the property from R -5, Multiple Residential and Office District, to S-1, Government Use District to facilitate the redevelopment of the property by constructing a modern health care facility to better serve the medical needs of the community? RECOMMENDATION The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their July 9, 2008 Regular Meeting, voted 6-0 to recommend approval. BACKGROUND The applicant is requesting to rezone 107 E. Routt Avenue and 310 Colorado Avenue to a S-1, Government Use Zone District to facilitate the redevelopment of the property by constructing a modern health care facility to better serve the medical needs of the community. The Methodist church that currently exists at 310 Colorado Avenue will be demolished and a new building will be constructed per the site development plans that have been approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
