AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO FISCAL YEAR 2008 STAFFING LEVEL
FOR THE WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT BY ADDING A WATER RECLAMATION WORKER I
POSITION AND BY ELIMINATING A CHIEF WWTP OPERATOR POSITION
WHEREAS, the Director of Wastewater, the Director of Human Resources, and the City
Manager have determined that the needs of the Wastewater Department will best be met through
the addition of a Water Reclamation Worker I position and the elimination of a WWTP Chief
Operator position,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:

STAFFING LEVEL FOR THE WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT BY ADDING A
WATER RECLAMATION WORKER I POSITION AND BY ELIMINATING A
CHIEF WWTP OPERATOR POSITION
ISSUE
Should the Wastewater Department be authorized to add a Water Reclamation
Worker I position and eliminate a Chief WWTP Operator position to correct
current staffing.
RECOMMENDATION
The Ordinance be approved
BACKGROUND
Last summer a staffing ordinance modification was approved for the Wastewater
Department that abolished a Chief WWTP Operator position and added an entry-
level position. That staffing modification was inadvertently missed when the
Staffing Ordinance was approved for 2008. This ordinance corrects that error,
adds one position of Water Reclamation Worker I, and abolishes one Chief
WWTP Operator position to the Wastewater Department.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
In 2008 this staffing modification will result in salary savings of approximately
$6700.
