PWHP07 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The budget for the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo, Phase IIIA -1 Capital Improvement Project No. PWHP07 was established by Ordinance No. 7442 in the amount of $3,100,568 and increased an additional $118,800 by Ordinance No. 7605. SECTION 2. Capital Improvement Project No. PWHP07, HARP Phase IIIA -1, is hereby budgeted and appropriated an additional increase of $177,000 to the project budget. SECTION 3. The HARP Foundation will provide the said funds to the City at the end of the project. PWHP07 ISSUE Should City Council budget and appropriate an increase to the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo (HARP) Phase III A -1 project in the amount of $177,000? RECOMMENDATION Approve the Ordinance. BACKGROUND Ordinance No. 6844 established Capital Improvement Project No. PWHP07 for the construction of the HARP Phase III project. In February 2006, Ordinance No. 7442 established the initial budget for the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo, Phase IIIA -1 Capital Improvement Project No. PWHP07 in the amount of $3,100,568. In June 2007, Ordinance No. 7605 increased the budget by an additional $118,800, which the City received a HUD Special Projects Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At the beginning of constructing the project, the Board of Water Works pledged that they would cover the costs for extending the raw water line. Seventy seven thousand dollars ($77,000) of those funds are for raw water line improvements. The remaining $100,000 will come from the HARP Foundation. At the December 26, 2007 meeting, the City will hear an amended agreement with the HARP Foundation transferring the additional $177,000 in funds to the City of Pueblo.
