701 SUSTITUTED COPY Background Paper for Proposed ORDINANCE AGENDA ITEM # ot� DATE: NOVEMBER 26, 2007 DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES — ACTING DIRECTOR DOUGLAS FITZGERALD TITLE AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2008 ISSUE This Ordinance provides for the allocation of positions by department for the Budget Year of 2008. RECOMMENDATION The City Manager and the Acting Human Resources Director recommend that this Ordinance be approved. BACKGROUND Authorized departmental staffing for 2008 includes a decrease by one position in the Planning and Community Development, an increase from a % time position to a full time position in Information Technology, an increase by one position in Wastewater, an increase by one position in Parks and Recreation and an increase by one in the Police Department due to a grant funded position. These staffing modifications result in an overall increase of 2.25 positions above the staffing levels approved in the 2007 budget. This is a substituted copy due to the passing of the Methamphetamine Initiative Grant Ordinance on 11126/07. FINANCIAL IMPACT The positions authorized in this ordinance have been funded in the 2008 budget or with subsequent budget amendments.
