HomeMy WebLinkAbout07679ORDINANCE NO. 7679 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING RESTRICTIONS FROM B -3, HIGHWAY AND ARTERIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TO S -1, GOVERNMENT USE DISTRICT COVERING A PORTION OF LOT 3, BLOCK 2, NORTH PUEBLO COMMERCIAL PARK FILING NO. 1 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 _ The zoning restrictions covering the following described property be changed from B -3, Highway and Arterial Business District to S -1, Government Use District, and upon passage of this ordinance, zoning restrictions affecting B -3, Highway and Arterial Business District to S -1, Government Use District, shall apply to said property: A parcel of land located in North Pueblo Commercial Park Filing No. 1, according to the recorded plat thereof, filed for record December 1, 1993 in the County of Pueblo and the State of Colorado and being more particularly described as follows: Considering the East Line of North Pueblo Commercial Park Filing No. 1 to bear N 02 0 28'05" W., and all bearings being relative thereto. Beginning at the Southeast Corner of Lot 3 in North Pueblo Commercial Park Filing No. 1; thence S. 88 0 17'04" W., along the South line of said Lot 3, a distance of 124.33 feet; thence N. 00 0 33'10" E, a distance of 651.55 feet; thence N. 87 0 32'33" E., a distance of 89.99 feet to a point on the East line of said Lot 3; thence S. 02 0 28'05" E., along the East line of said Lot 3, a distance of 652.27 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 1.603 acres more or less. and more commonly known as: A portion of Lot 3, Block 2, North Pueblo Commercial Park Filing No. 1 SECTION 2. PACHECO, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TITLE AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING RESTRICTIONS FROM B -3, HIGHWAY AND ARTERIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TO S -1, GOVERNMENT USE DISTRICT COVERING A PORTION OF LOT 3, BLOCK 2, NORTH PUEBLO COMMERCIAL PARK FILING NO. 1 ISSUE Shall City Council approve a request to rezone the property from B -3, Highway and Arterial Business District to S -1, Government Use District to facilitate the construction of a Holiday Inn and Suites? The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their September 12, 2007 regular meeting, voted 7-0 to recommend approval. BACKGROUND The applicant is requesting the Zoning Map Amendment to facilitate the construction of a Holiday Inn and Suites. The City of Pueblo has entered into an agreement to allow the Holiday Inn and Suites to use a portion of the City -owned property for their required parking. A Special Use Permit will be required for a non - governmental use of the City owned lot. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
