RECOMMENDATION The Ordinance be approved. The Director of Public Works and the Acting Human Resources Director have determined that the needs of the Public Works Department will best be met by amending the Classification and Pay Plan to include the new classification of Associate Field Engineer. There is a need for a new classification because in addition to the duties of the Construction Inspector, the Associate Field Engineer will be responsible for construction inspection of major Public Works projects including assisting the Construction Engineer with the review and record keeping of commercial site plans for building permits and certificates of occupancy. FINANCIAL IMPACT None, this ordinance only adds a classification to the existing salary ordinance
