TITLE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO BE
KNOWN AS THE CITY PARK TENNIS COURT COMPLEX RESURFACING
PROJECT, BUDGETING, APPROPRIATING AND TRANSFERRING THE

TRUST FUND
ISSUE
Should City Council establish Capital Project No. 0708 for the City Park Tennis
Court Resurfacing Project and transfer $100,000 from the Conservation Trust
Fund Balance to fund the project?
Approval of this Ordinance
BACKGROUND
The 17 court City Park Tennis Complex was renovated in 1999, which included
color coating and striping of the new concrete post - tension courts. Since that
time the weathering process and normal use of the courts has resulted in the
erosion of the surfacing and striping resulting in a poor playing experience for
users.
The City Tennis Advisory Planning Committee has recommended that the City
Park Tennis Complex courts be resurfaced and striped as soon as possible in
order to return the courts to an acceptable standard and level of play for the
tennis community.
The project is scheduled for bid in April, awarded by the City Council in May, and
completed in June. It is estimated to take approximately three weeks to
complete.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The estimated cost of the project to include color coating, striping, and new nets
and contingency is $100,000. Funds are available and will be transferred from
the Colorado Trust Fund Balance.
