TITLE
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING RESTRICTIONS FROM R -6 AND B -3
TO B-4 COVERING A PARCEL OF LAND COMMONLY KNOWN AS 800 WEST
U.S. HIGHWAY 50
ISSUE
Shall City Council approve a request to rezone the property from R -6, Multiple
Residential and Commercial District and B -3 Highway and Arterial Business
District, to B-4, Regional Business District, to facilitate the development of
commercial and professional office uses?
The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their February 14, 2007 regular
meeting, voted 4 -0 to recommend approval.
The current use of land is for a motel. The applicant is requesting a Zoning Map
Amendment to facilitate the development of commercial and professional office
uses. The applicant proposes to demolish the existing motel to construct "pad
sites" to house future businesses; the approximate date of completion has not
been identified.
