HomeMy WebLinkAbout07540Reception 1712401 02/02/2007 ORDINANCE NO. 7540 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF MECHANIC STREET, BETWEEN RICHMOND AND GRAND AVENUE, AND ALLEY IN BLOCK 4, CENTRAL PUEBLO BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. The portion of Mechanic Street between Richmond and Grand Avenue, and Alley in Block 4, Central Pueblo, and more particularly described as follows: A portion of Mechanic Street located in the NE'/ of the SE' /4 of Section 36, T20S R65W 6 th Principle Meridian. Beginning at the NE corner of Lot 15, Block 4, Central Pueblo as filed for record August 13, 1883 in the office of the Pueblo Country Clerk and Recorder, said Point of Beginning, also being the intersection of the west Right -of -Way of Mechanic Street and the south Right -of -Way of Richmond Avenue, thence southwesterly along the west Right -of -Way of Mechanic Street a distance of 398.67 feet more or less to the north line of Parcel B, Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Project, Filing One as filed for record July 20, 1999 in the office of the Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder, thence southeasterly along said north line of Parcel B a distance of 84.56 feet more or less to the east Right -of- Way of Mechanic Street, thence northeasterly along the east Right -of- Way Mechanic Street a distance of 426.08 feet more or less to the south Right -of -Way of Richmond Avenue said point also being the NW corner of Lot 14, Block 3, Central Pueblo, thence northwesterly along said south Right -of -Way of Richmond Avenue a distance of 80.00 feet to the Point of Beginning. Together with A portion of the Alley in Block 4, Central Pueblo. This reservation will terminate upon removal of all existing facilities. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. PACHECO TITLE AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF MECHANIC STREET, BETWEEN RICHMOND AND GRAND AVENUE, AND ALLEY IN BLOCK 4, CENTRAL PUEBLO ISSUE Shall City Council approve the street and alley vacation to commence Phase III of the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Project in order to extend the pedestrain facilities along the river? RECOMMENDATION The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their October 11, 2006, regular meeting, voted 7 -0 to recommend approval, with the following noted: Reservations Alley in Block 4 to be vacated is reserved for use by utilities presently existing in said Alley. This reservation will terminate upon removal of all existing facilities. BACKGROUND Property is located at the 100 Block of North Mechanic Street. The City of Pueblo is requesting to vacate a portion of Mechanic Street as part of an expansion of the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Project. Phase III of HARP includes extending the pedestrian path along the river, a parking area and possibly a future building site. The Mechanic Street Vacation is a preparatory action in order to construct HARP Phase III. It is the recommendation of the Subdivision Review Committee (SRC) memo dated October 3, 2006 that the vacation be approved. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
