BACKGROUND:

DBA Spark the Change Colorado to sponsor the annual Suicide Memory Walk on
September 7, 2024, from 9 am to 12 pm at Lake Minnequa Veteran's Memorial Park.
The Mental Wellness Task Force of Southern Colorado is planning the annual Suicide
Memory Walk, an event aimed at raising awareness about suicide prevention, honoring
the memories of those we have lost, and providing support to families and individuals
affected by suicide.
This event will serve as a powerful platform to promote mental health awareness and
connect community members with vital resources. We are also planning a butterfly
release. Sponsorship supports the costs associated with organizing this important
event. The funds will be used for essential aspects such as event logistics, promotional
materials, and providing support services on the day of the walk.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2024 General Fund Budget to Metro Volunteers DBA
Spark the Change Colorado to sponsor the annual Suicide Memory Walk on September
7, 2024, from 9 am to 12 pm at Lake Minnequa Veteran's Memorial Park.
