HUD approved the application and the City must now execute the attached grant agreements. However, grant funding was reduced and the budgets must be adjusted accordingly. RECOMMENDATION Approve the ordinance, thereby, allowing City to implement the city of Pueblo FY 2006 CDBG and HOME projects identified in the Consolidated Plan. BACKGROUND The City of Pueblo submitted an application to HUD for CDBG and HOME funds for the year 2006 on January 13, 2006. The city must now enter into a grant agreement in order to receive the funds. FINANCIAL IMPACT The grant funding to the City has been reduced under both programs. The HOME grant was reduced by $40,292, for a grant amount of $883,481. Activities or programs affected are as follow: Community Housing Development Organization ($130,542); Pueblo County ($147,948); Administration ($72,233). The rest of the necessary reductions will be absorbed by the Rehab /Infill/New Construction account. The Community Development Block Grant was reduced by $111,940, for anew grant amount of $1,688,060. The funding cuts will be absorbed by the Department's administrative budget and the 2006 Contingency account, which is being reduced from $180,000 to $90,448. All Council approved CDBG projects have retained the original approved funding amounts.
