GALLI, CITY MANAGER DOUGLAS M. FITZGERALD, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER TITLE AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF $62,515 FROM THE GENERAL FUND RESERVES FOR ADDITIONAL WORK DONE ON THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR REHABILITATION PROJECT AT THE D &RGW FREIGHT DEPOT AND TRANSFERRING SAID FUNDS THEREFOR ISSUE Should the City Council approve the amount of $62,515 to be taken from the General Fund Reserves for rehabilitation work done at the D &RGW Freight Depot? RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Ordinance The Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center received a grant from the State Historical Society for the interior and exterior rehabilitation of the Freight Depot. The City of Pueblo Planning Department provided grant administration assistance for the project. As work was progressing, verbal authorizations were received from the State for changes to be made to the original scope of work as outlined in the contract. It was later determined by the State that some of the work done was not eligible for reimbursement under the grant. The work done was necessary to bring the Freight Deport building up to a habitable standard, and will benefit the City's Municipal Court after its relocation to the building. FINANCIAL IMPACT The amount of $62,515 will be transferred from the General Fund reserves.
