AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE 2006 APPROPRIATION TO THE PUEBLO CITY /COUNTY
HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLETING UNDERFUNDED PROJECTS
INCLUDING FLU PANDEMIC PREPARATION AND TRANSFERRING THE AMOUNT OF
$187,252 FROM THE FUND BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the Pueblo City /County health department has requested additional funds for
the completion of certain projects including preparation for a flu pandemic.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The amount of $187,252 is hereby transferred from General Fund Reserves and
appropriated to account number 101 - 8030 - 480.81 -01.

ISSUE
Should the City Council approve an additional appropriation in the amount of $187,252 for the
City /County Health Department to pay for underfunded projects, including preparation for a flu
pandemic?
Approval of the Ordinance
BACKGROUND
The Pueblo City- County Health Department, by letter dated February 23, 2006, has requested
additional funding in the amount of $374,503 to complete projects deemed necessary by the
Health Department to meet the public health needs of the Pueblo community. These projects
include initial preparation for a flu pandemic. The total cost will be split with the County. The
City's share will be $187,252.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The amount of $187,252 will be transferred from the General Fund reserves.
