AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO FISCAL YEAR 2005 STAFFING LEVEL FOR
THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT BY ADDING A POSITION OF
COMMUNITY AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (GRANT AND HOUSING SPECIALIST 1) AND
ELIMINATING A POSITION OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR
WHEREAS, The Housing and Community Services Director, the Human Resources Director
and the City Manager have determined that the needs of the Housing and Community Services
Department will be met best by amending the staffing. The position of Community and Development
Specialist (Grant and Housing Specialist 1) best meets the needs of the department at this time and
provides cost savings to the department in both the 2005 budget year as well as in future budget
years.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
(brackets indicate matter being deleted, underscoring indicates matter being added)
SECTION 1.
The following portion of the 2005 staffing level for the Housing and Community Services Department
is amended as follows:

Community and Development Specialist (Grant and Housing Specialist 1) 1
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

ISSUE
Should the Housing and Community Services Department be authorized to
eliminate a position of Housing and Community Development Administrator and
add a position of Community and Development Specialist (Grant and Housing
Specialist 1)?
RECOMMENDATION
That the Ordinance be approved.
BACKGROUND
The Housing and Community Services Director, the Human Resources Director and the
City Manager have determined that the needs of the Housing and Community Services
Department will be met best by amending the staffing. The position of Community and
Development Specialist (Grant and Housing Specialist 1) best meets the needs of the
department at this time and provides cost savings to the department in both the 2005
budget year as well as in future budget years.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is a monthly salary savings of $1,484 difference between the entry levels of the
two positions.
