THE PLACEMENT OR INSTALLATION OF SIGNS OVER THIRTY (30) FEET IN HEIGHT
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO FOR A PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONTHS
OR UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE CITY COUNCIL TAKES ACTION ON THE PENDING

ISSUE
Shall City Council approve and adopt an ordinance imposing a moratorium on the
issuance of permits for the placement or installation of signs over thirty (30) feet in height
within the limits of the City of Pueblo for a period of six (6) months or until such time as the
City Council takes action on the pending sign ordinance, whichever occurs first?
RECOMMENDATION
The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their June 8, 2005 regular meeting, voted 5 -0 to
recommend approval.
BACKGROUND
Members of the Sign Ordinance Committee developed a draft sign ordinance for the City
of Pueblo over the last several months at the request of the Pueblo Planning and Zoning
Commission. A moratorium on the issuance of permits for signs over thirty (30) feet in
height would prevent installation of larger signs within the City of Pueblo until the City
Council has had time to consider and take action upon the proposed sign ordinance.
