TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO FISCAL YEAR 2005
STAFFING LEVEL FOR THE LAND USE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT BY
ADDING (2) PLANNER -LAND USE POSITIONS AND ELIMINATING A SENIOR
PLANNER -LAND USE POSITION
ISSUE
Should the Land Use Administration Department be authorized to add (2)
Planner -Land Use positions and eliminate a Senior Planner -Land Use position to
best meet the current needs of the Department?
RECOMMENDATION
The Ordinance be approved.
BACKGROUND
The Land Use Administration Director, the Human Resources Director, and the City
Manager determined that the needs of the Land Use Administration Department will best
be met by amending the staffing level. With the transfer of a Senior Planner -Land Use
to the division of Urban Transportation Planning, we are requesting the elimination of
one Senior Planner -Land Use Position and the addition of (2) Planner -Land Use
positions. These two new staff positions within the Department of Land Use
Administration are needed to efficiently handle the workload of the Department. This
Ordinance would eliminate one Senior Planner -Land Use position and add (2) new
Planner -Land Use positions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will be no additional budgeted cost to the City for fiscal year 2005, as the $37,501
needed to fund the difference will be absorbed by salary savings. The estimated
approximate additional costs in future years will be $36,199.
