VEGA TITLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO FISCAL YEAR 2005 STAFFING LEVEL FOR THE STORMWATER DEPARTMENT BY ADDING AN EQUIPMENT OPERATOR IV POSITION AND ELIMINATING AN EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 1 POSITION ISSUE Should the Stormwater Department be authorized to add an Equipment Operator IV position and eliminate an Equipment Operator I position to best meet the current needs of the Department? RECOMMENDATION The Ordinance be approved. BACKGROUND The Director of Stormwater, the Human Resources Director, and the City Manager have determined that the budget for the Stormwater Department needs to be modified to add an Equipment Operator IV position and to eliminate an Equipment Operator I position. The Equipment Operator IV is needed to operate a new track hoe that will be used for Stormwater maintenance, and the Equipment Operator I is not qualified to operate this piece of machinery. This Ordinance would eliminate an Equipment Operator I position and add an Equipment Operator IV position. FINANCIAL IMPACT There will be no additional budgeted cost to the City for fiscal year 2005, as the $1250 needed to fund the difference will be absorbed by salary savings. The estimated additional cost for 2006 will be $3700.
