AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF CHAPTER 1, TITLE II OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO COMPENSATION OF APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, Section 2 -1 of the Charter of the City provides that members of City's boards and
commissions shall receive such pay, if any, as shall be set forth by ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter

SECTION 1
Section 2 of Chapter 1, Title II of the Pueblo Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2 -1 -2. Compensation of appointive boards and commissions.
(a) Effective July 1, 2005 [January 1, 1999], all members of the following boards
and commissions shall receive as compensation the sum of twenty -five dollars ($25.00)
[fifteen dollars ($15.00)] for each regular or special meeting actually attended by such
member:
(1) Planning and Zoning Commission.
(2) Zoning Board of Appeals (the Planning and Zoning Commission
member of this Board shall be compensated as all other members of said Board).
(3) Board of Elections, plus sixty dollars ($60.00) full compensation for
election day.
(4) Liquor and Beer Licensing Board.
(b) The Chairman of each such board and commission shall receive as additional
compensation the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) [twenty -five dollars ($25.00)] per month for each
month of service as Chairman.
(c) Ex officio members of such boards and commissions shall not receive any
compensation or expenses for attendance at regular meetings, but may be compensated for
special meetings attended, when provision in this Code is made for such compensation.
SECTION 2
This Ordinance shall become effective July 1, 2005.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF CHAPTER 1, TITLE 11 OF THE
PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO COMPENSATION OF
APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
ISSUE
The members of the Planning and Zoning Board, Zoning Board and Appeals,
Board of Elections, and Liquor and Beer Licensing Board are receiving a current
rate of compensation of $15.00 for each regular and special meeting, with the
Chairpersons of these respective bodies receiving an additional compensation of
$25.00 per month. It is being proposed the compensation rates be increased to
$25.00 per regular and special meeting and to $50.00 per month for the
Chairpersons beginning July 1, 2005 and continuing thereafter.

Approval
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approximately $2,000.00 for the remainder of the 2005 fiscal year and $4,000.00
for the fiscal years 2006 and beyond.
