CENTA, P.E. TITLE A ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL PROJECT NO. CP0508 — AIRPORT RAILROAD SPUR REBUILD, ELIMINATING PROJECT NO. CP0206 — UNITED AVENUE RAILROAD CROSSING, AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS THEREFORE ISSUE Should City Council authorize the use of funds in the amount of $100,000 to establish a new capital project to rehabilitate the railroad spur tracks at the Pueblo Municipal Airport and eliminate the United Avenue Railroad Crossing project. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND It has been determined that the City is not going to proceed with the United Avenue Railroad Crossing project at this time, as it is now the responsibility of the County under an agreement made between the City and County of Pueblo. Therefore, the City wishes to reprogram these appropriated funds to perform adjacent railroad work. The scope of this project will be to provide trackage repairs to various locations along the spur tracks within the Airport Industrial Park. This will include replacement of worn rails and appurtenances, replacement of broken and/or deteriorated ties, addition of ties to reduce spacing, adding stone ballast and reshaping to bring the trackage up to grade. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $50,000 will be transferred from Project No. CP0206 and $50,000 from the General Fund Reserve into Project No. CP0508.
