Should the City Council approve a transfer of funds in the amount of $50,000 from the Solid
Waste Users Fee Fund to the General Fund for the purpose of paying those funds to the
City /County Health Department for use in waste management projects.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of Ordinance
BACKGROUND
The Solid Waste Users Fee Fund has accumulated fees over the past two years, which
have not been budgeted to be paid over to the City/County Health Department. The Health
Department conducted projects during 2004 and would like to conduct additional projects
during 2005, which would cause it to exceed its budget in that area. They have asked that
the City transfer $50,000 in addition to the current 2005 budget of $90,000, for use in these
projects.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The $50,000 increase in the payment to the Health Department will come from fees already
collected in the Solid Waste Users Fee Fund.
