HomeMy WebLinkAbout07118ORDINANCE NO. 7118 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO 2004 BUDGET FOR THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT BY ADDING A PC NETWORK TECHNICIAN TO THE 2004 STAFFING LEVEL AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS THEREFORE WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department is experiencing an increasing need for personal computer technical support, and WHEREAS, additional staffing in the Information Technology Department would enhance computer support to the individual City Departments, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter being deleted, underscoring indicates matter being added) SECTION 1. The following portion of the 2004 budget and the staffing level for the Information Technology Department is amended as follows: [PC Network Technician 21 PC Network Technician 3 SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $31,621.00 are hereby budgeted, appropriated and transferred from the Fund Balance of the General Fund to be expended from the Department of Information Technology. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. VEGA TITLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO 2004 BUDGET FOR THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT BY ADDING A PC NETWORK TECHNICIAN TO THE 2004 STAFFING LEVEL AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS THEREFORE ISSUE Should the Information Technology Department be authorized to add a PC Network Technician position to best meet the technology support needs of the City, and appropriate the funds therefore? RECOMMENDATION The Ordinance be approved. BACKGROUND Since 2000, the Information Technology Department has had two individuals serving as PC Network Technicians, during this time the number of personal computers supported by the department has more than doubled to over 400. As the need for technology support continues to rise, an additional position is justified. FINANCIAL IMPACT This budget amendment will result in increased budget and costs for the Information Technology Department of approximately $31,621.00, to be taken from the Fund Balance of the General Fund.
