HomeMy WebLinkAbout06997ORDINANCE NO. 6997 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND INCREASING THE BUDGET FOR CAPITAL PROJECT NO. CPO216, KNOWN AS THE FAIRMOUNT PARK RENOVATION PROJECT BY $391,052 TO REFLECT GRANT FUNDS AND CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING $463,052 FOR SAME WHEREAS, City Council supported applications to the National Park Service Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Program and to Great Outdoors Colorado to secure funding for the renovation of Fairmount Park and improvements to Morton Elementary School Park; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo received notification from the National Park Service of a grant of $204,000 in June 2001 and from the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund of a grant of $125,000 for the Fairmount Park Renovation Project; and WHEREAS, Pueblo School District #60 and the Parent Teacher Organization from Morton Elementary School have committed $62,052 and cash and in -kind services for improvements at Morton Elementary School Park. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A $72,000 Capital Improvement Budget for the Fairmount Park Renovation previously established is hereby increased by the amount of $391,052. The total project amount of $463,052 is hereby budgeted and appropriated for the renovation of Fairmount Park. All expenses related to such project shall be paid from Project CP0216. SECTION 2. City Council finds and determines that funds for the Fairmount Park Renovation Project are being provided from the following sources: Urban Park and Recreation Funds $204,000 Great Outdoors Colorado Funds $125,000 City of Pueblo Funds — CP0216 $ 72,000 Morton Elementary School PTO (cash) $ 17,000 Morton Elementary School PTO (in -kind) $ 35,052 Pueblo School District No. 60 (in -kind) $ 10,000 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon immediately upon final passage and approval.
