HomeMy WebLinkAbout15714RESOLUTION NO. 15714 A RESOLUTION RATIFYIOINTMENT OF KENNEDY PUGH AND CLAIRE SCHAD TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION - JOINT APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, PACOG duly convened and appointed Kennedy Pugh and Claire Schad to complete a three-year term on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission expiring on December 31, 2026; it is now the desire of the Pueblo City Council to ratify said appointment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. The appointments of Kennedy Pugh and Claire Schad to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission in jointly-appointed positions to serve a three-year term expiring December 31, 2026, shall be and are hereby ratified. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Joint City-County appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission are made on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve expiring or vacant terms. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity. BACKGROUND: There are two joint vacancies on the Pueblo Human Relations Commissions. During the PACOG meeting on July 25, 2024, the BOCC and City Council members reviewed the applications and appointed Kennedy Pugh and Claire Schad to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: N/A ALTERNATIVES: City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, and request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional applications for consideration. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: None
