HomeMy WebLinkAbout06756ORDINANCE NO. 6756 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL #3 FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2002 WHEREAS, Ordinance no. 6471 approved a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pueblo and I.A.F.F., Local 3, for calendar year 2000; and WHEREAS, Ordinance no. 6604 extended this agreement for calendar year 2001; and WHEREAS, said Agreement provides in Article 51, that the City may extend the Agreement through the additional calendar year 2002 consistent with the terms of the existing Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Pursuant to provisions of Article 51, Duration of Agreement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between the City of Pueblo, a municipal corporation, and International Association of Fire Fighters, Local #3, the term of said Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby extended for one (1) year beginning January 1, 2002, and ending December 31, 2002. This extended term shall be upon the same covenants and conditions as the existing Agreement, as amended. It is specifically agreed that wages during this extended term shall be as provided in Article 10 of the Agreement. SECTION 2. The President of the City Council is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Pueblo and the City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. ISSUE Shall the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pueblo and the International Association of Firefighters Local #3 be extended for an additional one year term beginning January 1, 2002 and ending December 31, 2002. RECOMMENDATION Administration recommends this Ordinance be approved. BACKGROUND Ordinance 6471 approved a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and I.A.F.F. Local 3 for the calendar year 2000. Article 51 of that Agreement provides that the City may extend the Agreement for two successive one year terms. Ordinance 6604 extended the Agreement for the calendar year 2001. This Ordinance extends the Agreement one additional year. FINANCIAL IMPACT Article 10 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pueblo and International Association of Firefighters, Local #3, provides for a 3.3% increase in wages.
