HomeMy WebLinkAbout06604ORDINANCE NO. 6604 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL #3 FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2001 WHEREAS, Ordinance no. 6471 approved a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pueblo and I.A.F.F., Local 3, for calendar year 2000; and WHEREAS, said Agreement provides in Article 51, that the City may extend the Agreement through calendar year 2001 consistent with the terms of the existing Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. Pursuant to provisions of Article 51, Duration of Agreement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between the City of Pueblo, a municipal corporation, and International Association of Fire Fighters, Local #3, the term of said Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby extended for one (1) year beginning January 1, 2001, and ending December 31, 2001. This extended term shall be upon the same covenants and conditions as the existing Agreement, as amended. It is specifically agreed that wages during this extended term shall be as provided in Article 10 of the Agreement. SECTION 2_ The President of the City Council is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Pueblo and the City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. DEPARTMENT: City Administration DATE: 10123/00. ISSUE: Shall the attached extension of the collective bargaining agreement be approved? RECOMMENDATION: Administration recommends passage. BACKGROUND: City of Pueblo and Firefighters Union collective bargaining agreement expires, December 31, 2000. Article 51 provides that City Council may extend the agreement through calendar year 2001, on the same terms and conditions except that wage increases shall be as provided in Article 10 of the agreement. FINANCIAL IMPACT: 3.3% wage increase.
