CO- 03- 0065 -00, BETWEEN PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that, SECTION 1. A certain Contract, after having been approved by the City Attorney, by and between PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, relating to project number CO -03- 0065 -00, covering a Federal Transit Administration Grant under Section 3 of, the Federal Transit Act, as amended, to assist in financing the design, construction and equipping a new downtown Transit Center at 2' & Court Street, be and the same are hereby approved. Copies of which are on file in the City Clerk's Office. SECTION 2. The President of City Council is hereby authorized to execute said Contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Consistent with the objectives of the Livable Communities Initiative, these funds will be used to assist the City in the construction of its new downtown transit center and are supplemental to funds provided under CO -90- X089 -00. The project will serve as a national demonstration of how customer - friendly, community- oriented and well designed transit projects can help make communities more livable. I encourage you to continue to implement land use and transportation policies supportive of increased transit ridership because transit system utilization is an important measure of the success of this project. Enclosed are three copies of the Approved Project Budget and three counterparts of a Grant Agreement executed on behalf of this Administration.
