HomeMy WebLinkAbout06021ORDINANCE NO. 6021 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 42.7 OF SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 2 OF TITLE XVII OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES DEFINING SALVAGE YARDS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (Brackets indicate matter omitted, underscoring indicates new matter.) SECTION 1. Subsection (42.7) of Section 1 of Chapter 2 of Title XVII, of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, is hereby amended to read as follows: (42.7) Salvage Yard. [See definition of salvage yard contained in Section 7 -9 -13 of the 1971 Code of Ordinances.] Salvage yard or salvage shop shall mean anyplace at which salvage is collected, received. stored, accumulated. sold, or otherwise handled. Salvage shall mean any personal property which is or may be salvaged for re -use, re -sale. reduction or similar disposition, or which is possessed, transported. owned, collected, accumulated, dismantled or assorted for any of the aforesaid purposes. Used household furniture, used wearing gp2arel, used lumber, used brick. used tile, used plumbing fixtures, used electrical fixtures, used articles made of precious metal or metals, used jewelry, used tools and other used articles of person property which are bought and sold as secondhand property and which are not handled as what is ordinarily called "salvage" shall not be included in the term "salvage" as used herein. Without limiting the aforesaid definition of salvage. the term shall include used or salvaged iron, brass. lead, conger, and other base metal or metals. and their compounds or combinations, used or salvaged rope, bags, aper rags, glass rubber, and similar articles and used motor vehicles or machinery used, owned or possessed for the purpose of wrecking or salvaging parts therefrom.
