HomeMy WebLinkAbout05960ORDINANCE NO. 5960 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CIVIL SERVICE RULE 14 OF CHAPTER XX OF TITLE VI OF THE 1971 CODE OF ORDINANCES TO CLARIFY THE TYPES OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION WHICH MAY BAR ELIGIBILITY FOR CIVIL SERVICE PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATIONS WHEREAS, under Civil Service Rule 14, any employee who has received "significant disciplinary action" within the previous two years may be disqualified from civil service promotional examinations; and WHEREAS, Rule 14 does not define the phrase "significant disciplinary action "; and WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission and employee representatives have recommended clarification of this language; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO: Section 1. That Civil Service Rule 14 of Chapter XX of Title VI of the 1971 Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: (brackets indicate matter being deleted; underscoring indicates matter being added) RULE 14: DISCIPLINARY ACTION BAR TO ELIGIBILITY If prior service in a particular class or classes is a requirement for admission to a promotional examination for any class, or for appointment to that class, such service shall be computed subject to Civil Service Rule 25.
