AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CIVIL SERVICE RULE 29 OF CHAPTER XX
OF TITLE VI OF THE 1971 CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE THAT
ELIGIBLE LISTS FOR POLICE PATROL OFFICER SHALL EXPIRE
TWELVE MONTHS FROM THE DATE SUCH LISTS ARE CERTIFIED
WHEREAS, Civil Service Rule 29 provides that the eligible
lists for Police Patrol Officer expires 24 months from the date
such lists were certified; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has determined that a new
eligible list should be created for police patrol officer once
each year; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has recommended that
such change be done; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO that:

Section 1. That Civil Service Rule 29 is hereby amended to read
as follows:
RULE 29: LIFE OF ELIGIBLE LISTS
Police entry and promotional and Fire {or Police}
promotional eligible lists shall expire twelve months, and all
other eligible lists shall expire twenty -four months, after the
date of their certification by the Commission, unless a list is
sooner exhausted, cancelled or withdrawn pursuant to Rules 6 and
32.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon final passage, and shall apply to all police patrol officer
eligible lists created on or after the date of final passage.
