AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE XV
AND CHAPTER 4 OF TITLE XVII RELATING TO THE
STANDING, PARKING, STORING AND USE OF MAJOR
RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT, AND PROVIDING PENAL-
TIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:

new material being added.)
SECTION 1
Subsection (A) (3 ) of Section 15 -1 -8 of Chapter 1 of Title XV
of the 1971 Code of Ordinances, as amended, amending the Model
Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities, is hereby further
amended by amending Section 11 -5 of the aforesaid Model Traffic
Code to read as follows:
15- 1- 8(A)(3) Section 11 -5. Standing, Parking or Storing of
Major Recreational Equipment Prohibited.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to stand or
park any major recreational equipment on any street or street
right -of -way in a residential district anywhere within the
City other than for the loading or unloadi t hereof. [for a
period of time longer than twenty -four consecutive hours.]
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to stand, park,
or store any major recreational equipment anywhere within the
City in such a manner as to obstruct or interfere with the
view of any intersection or official traffic control device.
(c) Major recreational equipment shall be defined as
recreational equipment including boats and boat trailers,
travel trailers, pickup campers or coaches (designed to be
mounted on automotive vehicles), motorized dwellings, tent
trailers, and the like, and cases or boxes used for
transporting recreational equipment, whether occupied by such
equipment or not.
SECTION 2.
Section 17 -4 -27 of Chapter 4 of Title XVII of the 1971 Code
of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, as amended, is hereby further
amended to read as follows:
17 -4 -27: PARKING, STORAGE, OR USE OF MAJOR RECREATIONAL
EQUIPMENT
For purposes of these regulations, major recreational
equipment is defined as including boats and boat trailers,
travel trailers, pick -up campers, or coaches (designed to be
mounted on automotive vehicles), motorized dwellings, tent
trailers, and the like, and cases or boxes used for trans-
porting recreational equipment, whether occupied by such
equipment or not. No major recreational equipment shall be
parked or stored on any street or street right -of -way for any
period of time other than for the loading or unloading
thereof. No such equipment shall be stored on any lot in a
residential district in such a manner as to impede visibility
of pedestrian or vehicular traffic. No such equipment shall
be used for living, sleeping, or housekeeping purposes when
parked or stored on a residential lot, or in any location not
approved for such use.

It is unlawful and a municipal offense for any person to
violate any provision of this Ordinance. Every person convicted
of a violation of Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be punished as
provided in Section 15 -1 -6 of the 1971 Code of Ordinances, as
amended. Every person convicted of a violation of Section 2 of
this Ordinance shall be punished as provided in Sections 17 -7 -3
and 1 -2 -1 of the 1971 Code of Ordinances, as amended.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final
passage and approval.
