HomeMy WebLinkAbout04032As Amended - 5/26/75 ORDINANCE NO. 4032 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF TITLE VI OF THE 1971 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO RELATING TO CIVIL SERVICE RULES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: (Brackets indicate material being deleted, underscoring indicates material being added.) SECTION 1. Rule 19 of Chapter 13 of Title VI of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo is hereby amended to read as follows: RULE 19: CONDUCT OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION The examiner shall see that all examinations are carried out in accordance with the following rules and any special directives of the Commission: (a) Examinations shall be held in the presence of one (1) or more examiners. (b) Time limits for tests or complete examinations shall be announced to the candidates at the beginning of the examination. (c) writing paper furnished by the Commission shall be used exclusively by the candidates. Unless otherwise specified in the announcement, pens, pencils, etc., shall be furnished by the candidates. (d) Books of reference or data of any kind shall not be brought into the examination room or used by any candidate unless otherwise specified in the announcement. (e) Written tests shall be done with pen and ink unless otherwise directed by the Commission or the examiner. Mathematical work shall be shown in full. [(f) All papers pertaining to a given test shall be distributed at the same time.] [(g)] (f) Individual explanations to candidates are prohibited. [(h)] (g) Communication between candidates is prohibited. [(i)] (h) Candidates shall not leave the examination room without permission from an examiner. [(j)] (i) All examination papers shall be taken up upon expiration of the time limit set. [(k)] (j) Should a candidate withdraw from an examination he shall turn in all papers he has received. [(1)] (k) In case of irregularity in an examination, the examiners shall make a written report thereof, to be filed with the working papers of the examination and submitted to the Commission. SECTION 2. Rule 25 of Chapter 13 of Title VI of the 1971 Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: RULE 25: SENIORITY PREFERENCE For all promotional examinations employee candidates shall receive preference in the determination of general ratings [to the extent of one -half (1/2) of (1) percent] by adding one -half (1/2) point to the passing score of eligible candidates for each complete year of classified service with the City. Candidates who have voluntarily separated from the City classified service and have been subsequently reappointed to a position in said service from an eligibility or re- employment list shall have their seniority preference points computed on the basis of their years in the city classified service since such reappointment. SECTION 3. Rule 35 of Chapter 13 of Title VI of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo is hereby amended to read as follows: RULE 35: RE- EMPLOYMENT LISTS Employees in employment record municipal service at the request of appropriate re -em two (2) years [.] said service.
