That from and after the passage of this ordinance, it Shall be unlawful for any company, corporation or person to engage in, or carry on the business of junk dealers, commonly known as junk shop or the business of junk peddler or junk pickers, without first having obtained a license therefor. Section 2. Any company, corporation or person desiring to engage in the business of junk dealer shall make application for a license therefor to the City Council, stating in said application the name of the corporation or person desiring to er_gage in the bus- iness and the proposed glade of business, accompanied by the certificate of the City Clerk, that the fee hereinafter provided for has been paid. Section 3. The City Council may, if it is satisfied that the applicant is a suitable person to carry on the business of junk dealer, order a license to be issued to said applicant the payment to the City Clerk of the sum of three hundred dollars per annum in advance having been made. Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or carry on the business of junk Ourchasing or junk picking, in wagons or otherwise, for himself or anyone else without first having obtained a oeddlers or pickers license therefore. Section 5. The City Clerk, if ha shall be satisfied that the applicant is a fit person to carry on the business of junk peddling or junk nicking will issue a license to such applicant upon the payment of twenty dollars per annum in advance. Section 6. Any peddler or picker has the full right, and privilege to sell his junk bought or picked, to anyone who will pay him a profitable price for same. Section 7. It shall be unlawful for any junk dealer, junk peddler or junk picker to purchase or receive junk or any article from any minor, except with the written consent of the oarerts or guardian. Section S. Any person or persons buying junk from peddlers or pickers, or at large or in car lots, will ba considered a junk dealer, and will have to pay three hundred dollars per annum. Section 9. Any corporation, company or person violating any of the provision of this ord- inance shall be fined, upon conviction, not less than M50.00 nor more than $'300.00 for each offense and in addition have his license revoked. Section 10. Ordinance #553 of the City of Pueblo and all other ordinances or parts of ord- inances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. S >ction 11. mach and every peddler or picker must be provided with a number and badge, for which he will pay and additional charge to the City Clerk for cost of same and wear it in a conspicuous place.
