ORDINANCE N0. 537
AN ORDINANCr: relating to Peddlers -
BS IT ORDAIN) BY TH6 CITY COUNCIL OF TITS CITY OF PUO3LO, COLON "BO,
Section 1.
That for the purpose of issuing license to peddlers are hereby divided into
three classes, as follows, to wit:
Persons selling fruit and berries only shall be peddlers of the first class.
Persons selling articles, goods, things, wares and merchandise carrying such
goods upon their backs or without the assistance or aid of any push cart, wagon or
other vehicle of any kind or description, shall be known as foot peddlers or pedd-
lers of the second class.
Persons peddling any articles of goods, wares, merchandise or things of any
kind whatsoever with the aid of a push cart, wagon, carriage or other vehicle of
conveyance shall be known as peddlers of the third class.
Section 2.
The City Clerk may upon application, issue Peddlers license of the class desired
to any applicant upon the payment of the folowing amounts to wit:
For a license to a peddler of the first class twenty -five (25) dollars per
month.
For a license of the second class the sum of three (3) dollars per day, or
twelve (12) per week or twenty -five (25) per month.
For a license of the third class the sum of five (5) dollars per day or twenty
(20) dollars per week or fifty (50) dollars per month.
Section 3.
No person shall be permitted to peddle any other kind of goods, merchandise,
articles or things, or use any other kind of conveyance than that specified as
constituting the class for which said license is issued.
Section
No officer or employee of the City of Pueblo shall be permitted to receive any
partial payment upon any license whatsoever, and any license issued under this

Ordinance may be revoked by order of the City Council for any improper conduct on
the part of the person so licensed.
Section
It shall be unlawful for any person licensed under the provisions of this
Ordinance to be or remain, while so peddling or vending his goods and wares in any
one place for more than five (5) minutes at one time; it being the intention and
purpose of this Ordinance that person operating under license granted pursuant to
its provisions shall keep moving while so peddling and vending their goods wares
and merchandise
Section 6.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall not apply to any person or persons
bringing food products into said City for sale either in bulk or by retail from
house to house provided said food products were grown or raised by the person or
persons so having then for sale and are products of the State of Colorado.
Section 7.
All peddlers of the first and third classes, at the time of receiving license,
shall be required to secure of the City Clerk a badge or number designating thereon
the number of the license and the owner thereof, which said badge or number shall
be placed and kept upon the cart, wagon, carriage, vehicle, or other conveyance so
used by said peddler. For such badge or number the said applicant shall pay the
City Clerk the sum of one (1) dollar which said amount., upon the expiration of the
license and the return of the badge or number, shall be rettvaned by the City Clerk
to the applicant.
Section 8.
Any person who shall pursue the occupation of a hawker or peddler., except as
above provided within the corporate limits of the City of Pueblo without first having
obtained a license therefor provided by this ordinance and any person violating
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall forfeit and pay to the City of Pueblo
for each offense a fine of not less than ten nor more than one hundred (100)
dollars.
Section 9.
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
