ORDINANCE NO 513
AN ORDINANCE relating to Peddlers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Pueblo, Colorado.
Section 1.
The City Clerk may, upon application, issue a peddlers license to any applicant
upon the payment of three dollars 03.00) per day, twelve dollars ($12.00) per week
and seventy -five dollars ($75.00) for a term of three months. If applicant desires
a license to issue before the first days of October, Januaryy April or July, for a
term of three months, he shall in addition to the license fee for three (3) months,
deposit with the City Clerk sufficient money to pay for the excess of time over
three (3) months asked for.
The applicant for such license shall state the kind and aggregate value, as
near as may be, of the goods and mercha*Mse or articles to be peddled, and also the
mode of conveyance and the time for which such license is granted. Any such license
may be revoked by order of the City Council for any improper conduct on the part of
the person so licensed, and any such person who shall be guilty of any fraud, cheat
or imposition while acting in such capacity, or who shall peddle and other kinds of
goods, merchandise or articles, or use and other kind of conveyance than that
specified in his lecense, shall on conviction, thereof, be fined not less than ten
dollars ($10 nor more than one hundred dollars ($5100.00) for each offense.
No officer of employee of the City of Pueblo shall be permitted to receive any
partial payment upon any license whatsoever, and any and all applicants for a
peddlers license shall pay the full amount of the license fee, and receive the
proper license from the City Clerk, and such applicant may then be permitted to
peddle, vend or hawk any goods, wares and merchandise etc., within the corporate
limits of the City of Pueblo.
Section 2.
It shall be unlawful for any person licensed under the provisions of this
ordinance to be or remain, while so peddling or vending his goods and wares, in any
one place on any street for more than five minutes at one time; it being the in-
tention that persons operating under licenses granted pursuant to this ordinance,
shall keep moving while they are so peddling and vending their goods and wares, and
shall not remain in any one stand or place for said purpose; Any person who shall
violate the provision of this section, shall, on conviction, be fined in any sum
not less than ten dollars 010.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00), and con-
viction under this section shall operate to revoke the license of the person so
convicted.
Section 3.
Any person who shall pursue the occupation of a hawker or peddler, within the
corporate limits of the City of Pueblo, without having first obtained a license
therefor as provided by this ordinance, shall forfeit and pay to the City of Pueblo
for each offense a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one
hundred dollars ($100.00).
Section 4.
All ordinance and parts of ordinances in confilct with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
