HomeMy WebLinkAbout005001 ORDINANCE YO 500 An Ordinance regulating the use of bicycles and other vehicles on the streets of the City of Pueblo. Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to ride any bicycle, tricycle or velocipede or any other riding ,achine, in through or upon any of the public streets or alleys within the limits of the City of Pueblo at a rate of speed faster that eight""..(8) miles an hour, or to pass any intersection or turn any corner, when any pedestrian or other vehicle is near or on said intersection or corner, or to pass any place where any person or persons may be entering or allighting from any streetcar, at a rate of speed greater than four (4) miles an hour. Section 2. It shall be the duty of every person in charge of any wagon or other vehicle down by any horse or horses or other animal or animal meeting any other such wagon or vehicle, bicycle, tricycle, velocipede or other riding machine or vehicle, and of every person riding any bicycle tricycle velocipede or other riding machine, when meeting any vehicle or pedestrian, at any place within the coporate limits of the City of Pueblo to turn to the right, and on all occasions when practicalle and possible so to do, to travel on the right side of the track. Section 3. It shall be the duty of every person in charge of any wagon or other vehicle drawn by any other horse or horses or other animal or animal, and of every person riding any bicycle, tricycle, velocipede, or other riding machine when turning a corner to the left to leave at lea�at fifteen feet between such vehicle and the corner of the curbing on the left. Section 4. It shall be the duty of every person in charge of any w or vehicle drawn by any horse or horses or other animal or animals when on a street on which there are but two wheel tracks or well beaten Paths for vehicles, when practicable to turn out c to the right and surrender the left track when meeting any other wagon or other vehicle drawn by any horse or horses or other animal or animals, or any bicycle tricycle, velocipede or other riding machine to the vehicle so met; and to turn out to the right and surrender the left track when signaled or requested so to do, to allow any wagon or other vehicle traveling in the same direction to' pass if it be practicable so to do. Section 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to throw deposit or place in any street or alley within the corporate limits of the City of Pueblo, any nails tacks, crock— ery, scrap iron, glass, tin, wire or other article liable to cause puncture to the tires of b�.cycles, trjeycles, velocipedes or other vehicle. Section 6. Any person found guilty of any violation of any requirements of this ordinance shall upon conviction., be fined in a sum not less than five nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense, and any person whether 'violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or not, who shall neglegenly or carelessly ride or drive into or collide with any pedestrian, other bicycle rider or other person or vehicle using any of said streets or alleys shall be guilty of a misdeamor, and shall upon conviction be fines inany sum not less than five nor more than one hundred dollars.
