AN Ordinance amending Section 9 and 10 of Article a, Chapter I1 of the revised
book of ordinances of 1892.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Pueblo, Colorado.
Section 1,
That Section 9 of Article 2, Chapter 11 of the revised book of ordinances
of 1892 be and is hereby amended soas to read as follows:
The City Clerk may upon application issue a peddlers license to any applicant
upon the payment of $3.00 for one single day or $8 #00 for one week or upon the
payment of 315.00 for a term of three months. If applicant desires a license to
issue before the first days of October, January April or July for a term of three
(3) months he shall in addition to the license fee for three (3) months deposit
with the City Clerk sullficient money to pay for excess of time over three (3)
months asked for.
The applicant for such license shall state the kind and aggregate value as
near as may be, of the goods and merchandise or articles to be peddled amd also the
mode of conveyance and the time of which such a license is granted. Any such
license rjay be revoked by order of the City Council for any improper donduct
on the part of the person solicensed and any such person who shall be guilty fo
any fraud, cheat or imposition while acting in such capacity or vho shall peddle
any other kind of goods, merchandise or articles, or use any other kind of con—
veyance than that specified in his lecense shall on conviction thereof be fined
not less than twelve dollars and fifty cents ($12.50) nor more than fifty dollars.
No officer of employee of the City of Pueblo shall be permitted to receive any
partial payment upon any license fee what so ever, and any and all applicants for
a peddlers license shall pay the full amount of the license fee and receive the
proper license from the City Clerk and such applicant may then be permitted to
peddle vend or hawk any goods wares, merchandise, etc, within the corporate limits
of the City of Pueblo .
Section 2.
Any person who shall pursue the occupation of a hawker or peddler within the
corporate limits of the City of Pueblo without having first obtained a license
therefor as provided by ordinance shall forfeit and pay to the City of Pueblo
for each offense, a fine of not less than twelve dollars and fifty cents 012.50)
nor more than fifty dollars 050.00).
