HomeMy WebLinkAbout15644RESOLUTION NO. 15644 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF ROBERT CHILDERS TO SERVE A FOUR-YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 1, 2028, ON THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS WHEREAS, Mayor Heather Graham has requested confirmation by the City Council of her appointment of Robert "Bob" Childers to the Board of Elections; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of Robert Childers to the Board of Elections to serve a four-year term expiring June 1, 2028, shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The Mayor has made appointments to boards and commissions selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year and presented them to Council for approval. BACKGROUND: Due to the normal term expiration of Sharon Sullenberger, there is one spot available to serve a four-year term expiring June 1, 2028 on the Board of Elections. Following an page, the Pueblo Chieftain, and on social media seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, three applications were received. After interviewing the candidates, the Mayor appointed Mr. Childers. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Members of the Board of Elections are paid $25 per meeting attended.
