AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-16 OF CHAPTER 5,
OF TITLE VI OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO THE FY 2024 CLASSIFICATIONS AND PAY PLAN BY
ESTABLISHING THE PAY SCALE FOR MARKETING AND
SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Section 6-5-16 (A) of Chapter 5, of Title VI, of the Pueblo Municipal Code referencing the
Fiscal Year 2024 pay scale for the classification of Marketing and Social Media Specialist
6-5-16. Schedule, classification, work week and monthly salary.
The following shall constitute:
A. The monthly pay range for the classification of Marketing and Social Media Specialist
for 2024
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Ordinance to effectuate and transactions described therein.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City
Council.

Introduced and initial adoption of Ordinance by City Council on April 22, 2024.
Final adoption of Ordinance by City Council on May 14, 2024.

SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-16 OF CHAPTER 5, OF
TITLE VI OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE FY
2024 CLASSIFICATIONS AND PAY PLAN BY ESTABLISHING THE PAY
SCALE FOR MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST.
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is an amended Pay Plan Ordinance that reflects the addition
of the pay rate and salary schedule for the classification of Marketing and Social Media
Specialist.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
On December 11, 2023, Ordinance No.10614 was approved by City Council. This
Ordinance provided the classification and pay plan for fiscal year 2024.
BACKGROUND:
branding efforts City-wide to enhance community engagement.
This position will be a classified position within the City and subject to all Civil Service
rules with respect to hiring. The position will be within the Pueblo Association of
Government Employees bargaining unit.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
No additional funding is required. The cost of the Marketing and Social Media Specialist
position is approximately $45,654 for the remainder of 2024. The department has
$38,000 budgeted in the temporary staffing line item to support the new position, with
the remaining funding requirement of $7,654 covered by salary savings generated
through the converted Internal Auditor position.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
The suggested change establishes the 2024 salary range for the classification of
Marketing and Social Media Specialist. If this ordinance is not approved, and assuming
the establishment of the position is approved, no salary range will be associated with
the classification and the position cannot be filled.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Ordinance.
