HomeMy WebLinkAbout15573RESOLUTION NO. 15573 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2024 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE SOUTHERN COLORADO PRESS CLUB IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR A TABLE AT THE SHEEP DIP EVENT ON APRIL 4, 2024 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2024 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Southern Colorado Press Club to sponsor the 2024 Sheep Dip event. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Council supported this event with $1,000 in 2023 and $500 in 2022. BACKGROUND: Southern Colorado Press Club is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the Annual Sheep Dip honor Bill and Barb Vidmar as the Mel Harmon recipients and Sam Ebersole as the Damon Runyon recipient. This is an annual fundraiser to support students in Mass Communication and Media Communication at Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University Pueblo. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Payment of funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2024 General Fund Budget to Southern Colorado Press Club. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: N/A ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
