A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2024 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO FIREFIGHTER HISTORICAL
SOCIETY IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR A TABLE
AT THE FIREFIGHTERS BALL & AWARDS DINNER ON
SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2024, AT 5 PM AT THE PUEBLO
CONVENTION CENTER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2024
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Firefighters Historical Society to
sponsor the Firefighters Ball & Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 5 pm at the
Pueblo Convention Center.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Pueblo Firefighter Historical
Society in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor a table at the Firefighters Ball & Awards
Dinner on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 5 pm at the Pueblo Convention Center.

BACKGROUND:
The Pueblo Firefighters Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, funded by
Pueblo Firefighters, with help from fundraisers throughout the year, and by IAFF Local
3.The historical society owns the building at 116 N. Main St. (the Pueblo Firefighters
Historical Center) where we display the antique fire trucks owned by the historical
society, and the operation of the Hose Co. No. 3 Fire Museum. Many people volunteer
many hours, committed to preserving our history. The museum was added to the
Colorado Most Endangered Places list in 2019.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account
in the 2024 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Firefighters Historical Society.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Sarah Martinez.
