HomeMy WebLinkAbout10652 City Clerk's Office Item # R7 Background Paper for Proposed Ordinance COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 12, 2024 TO: President Mark Aliff and Members of City Council CC: Mayor Heather Graham VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Barb Huber, Fire Chief SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) BETWEEN COLORADO STATE PATROL AND THE CITY OF PUEBLO RELATING TO THE USE OF THE PUEBLO FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This ordinance approves an IGA with Colorado State Patrol and their use of Pueblo Fire training facilities and location. The IGA is attached hereto. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: As part of emergency planning and collaboration, the City of Pueblo enters into this agreement with the Colorado State Patrol to allow the sharing of training facilities and equipment thus improving community partnerships and responses. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable. ALTERNATIVES: None. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. ATTACHMENTS: 1. City of Pueblo-CSP IGA Exhibit A FINAL ORDINANCE NO. 10652 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) BETWEEN COLORADO STATE PATROL AND THE CITY OF PUEBLO RELATING TO THE USE OF THE PUEBLO FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Intergovernmental Agreement (“Agreement”) between Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation and Colorado State Patrol, attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement to implement the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council.
